Karlie and Brandon had a complete show stopper of a wedding! This couple had a beautiful vision of what they wanted their day to look like and they executed it amazingly. These two tied the knot on June 30th, 2018. Karlie and Brandon love the outdoors and are both from northern Minnesota, so BWB seemed like the perfect place for them to start their forever. Their wedding day was filled with romance and the couple put so many personal touches into the space you could feel their love everywhere you looked.
Now time for a Q & A with the couple!
Tell us a little bit about you and your husband:
Brandon and I love the outdoors. We love to fish, hunt and do everything we can with our dog, Daisy. We love to travel together, specifically out west where we can go hiking in the mountains and experience new things. We try to make it up to Brainerd and Bemidji as much as possible to see our families and go boating and have bonfires.
If you would like to share your engagement proposal, we would love to hear:
Our proposal was very thoughtful on Brandon’s part. I was vacationing with my three best friends in Florida and I flew back into MSP late on a Friday night. I drove back to Brainerd that night and even called Brandon along the way and he said he was in Bemidji and he would see me the next day when he came to Brainerd. I arrived at my parent’s house in Brainerd around midnight. I saw that Brandon was at my house! I was completely surprised that he was at my parent’s house. I got to the door and he said let’s go down to the dock. I thought, okay, this is so weird. It’s so late, why would we go down to the dock? We went down anyway, and there was a huge light up sign that said “marry me”. He got done on one knee and the rest is history!
How did you hear about us and what sold you on you choosing BWB Ranch :
I googled barn weddings in the area one night. BWB Ranch popped up and I set up a time to meet with Julia immediately. I fell in love with the simplicity of the barn right away. The grounds were gorgeous. We loved it and called back after we toured it and booked our date!

What was your favorite part about BWB Ranch:
THE BARN. It is simply beautiful. Also the personal relationship with Julia. She is so helpful and awesome to work with.
What was your favorite part of your big day:
The ceremony. It was so surreal to see all of your closest friends and family when you are up by the arbor.
What is one thing you would tell BWB Ranch to add for future weddings:
Nothing! We didn’t have one thing go wrong the whole day. It was so beautiful and everything went so smoothly.
Did your guests share with you their experience of your wedding day here at BWB Ranch:
We got endless compliments from everyone during and still to this day about how beautiful everything was. They said the barn was a “hidden gem” in the Laporte area.
What advice would you give to a couple planning their wedding?
Enjoy it! Don’t jump into planning right away after you get engaged. Enjoy being engaged and wait a couple of months to begin the planning. I didn’t, and I felt like we didn’t get to enjoy just being us enough! Because planning gets stressful, even if you do have a lot of help like we did!
What was the best marriage advice you received?
Never go to bed angry at one another. Best advice!
